KHAZAR UNIVERSITY LIBRARY AND  INFORMATION CENTER

 

Khazar University Library and  Information Center (KU LIC) provides traditional and electronic information services in support of the present and future teaching, research and learning needs of the Khazar University.

 

Khazar University Library Information Center collects printed and electronic materials in Azerbaijani, English, Russian, Turkish, Arabic, Persian, German, French, Chinese and other modern European and Oriental languages in the fields of Business Studies, Economics and Management, Engineering and Applied Sciences, Education, Social Sciences, Political Science and International Relations, Legal Studies, Language Studies, Arts, Architecture, Philosophy, Literature, History, and Medical Sciences. An average 75% of the library materials are in English. Textbooks published all over the world, as well as publications of Khazar University Press are widely presented in the library. Khazar University LIC has an extensive reference collection, including monolingual and bilingual encyclopedias. Besides purchases, LIC collections have grown through donations and various grants, allowing development of target collection.

 

LIC has been functioning as Regional Depository Library of the World Bank in Azerbaijan since 1999 and Asian Development Bank since 2005. Depository Library collections meet an ever-increasing demand of the Khazar University Community.

 

Our computerized library catalog is available from any workstations within Khazar University LAN and provides access to the full textbooks and journals via Internet.

KU LIC provides access to full text online databases, such as EBSCO, ProQuest, BioOne, Cambridge University Press, Oxford Reference Online, etc. became available due to active participation of Khazar University in Azerbaijan Library Consortium

 

Access to EBSCO databases and agreement signed with various Publishing Companies, such as ProQuest, BioOne, Cambridge University Press, Oxford Reference Online, etc.

 

Online databases, electronic resources, online inter-library transactions and digitized abstracting and indexing services have become accessible to all Khazar students due to the hard work and devotion of Khazar University LIC.

 

LIC has been participating in various projects, the most important of which are:

·           CALIMERA (Culture Applications Local Institutions Mediating Electronic Access)

·          The Widernet Project (University of Iowa School of Library and Information Science

·          UNESCO Translation Project.
